"how truthfully does writing reflect character?" I think this is an incredibly important thing to note. Even Schopenhauer was/is scrutinized for not practicing what he preached. At the end of the day however, I find it interesting to call Aurelius a "good" leader, I think this question is itself a very complicated one to agree with considering his actions in the Marcomannic Wars.
